12/23/24: NOW IN STOCK
EXACT 1:1 fully functional reproduction of the Apollo heavyweight Lunar Sample Hammer, as used on the lunar surface on Apollo 14, 15, 16, & 17. (Earlier missions used the lightweight hammer, also available HERE).
This set includes a simulated falcon feather and lunar surface display base, recreating the "hammer & feather" drop as demonstrated on the surface of the Moon by Apollo 15 commander, Dave Scott, on August 2, 1971.
These hammers were exactingly made from original flown examples, and milled from aluminum then hard anodized just like they were in the 1960s. They are individually serialized with part number and serial engraving. Without hyperbole, these are as close to the real thing as possible.
While made exactly like the original, this hammer is NOT intended for actual use, and is for display ONLY. Use beyond display is at your own risk.
Reproduced in partnership with our friends at Global Effects/Orbital Surplus. Their product description below:
"These are machined in 6061 aluminum, as per print specifications, with hollow aluminum handles, and steel heads, vacuum metalized with aluminum, per original specification. The original blueprint also requires the aluminum coating to be removed from the hammer face, as well as the chisel end.
