Luna Replicas brings you the commercial space version of our flagship line, "Flight Wear" Type 2BLK flight jackets. These jackets are a black-shell version of the historic NASA Type 2 flight jacket, inspired by private astronauts & crews, such as Inspiration 4 Mission Pilot, Dr. Sian Proctor.
All facets match the traditional Type 2 jackets exactly: including single-piece woven cuffs, reinforced sleeve zipper, solid brass zipper and pull, original new-old-stock black enameled pocket snaps, custom dyed vintage orange lining fabric, and a water-resistant, matte black poly-cotton shell fabric.
These jackets are comfortable in cool or warm weather, lined but not insulated between layers. They make a great windproof jacket, or an outer layer above a sweater when cold. We have also added some water resistant treatment to the fabric, so these jackets will get you through a rainstorm, or an accidental spill.
This isn't anything you've seen before. Luna Replicas spent nearly a year developing these jackets with our custom manufacturer in Los Angeles, to bring you the finest wearable, museum-quality reproduction possible. You will not be disappointed.
