Alan Strack - Featured Artist
Alan Strack is a New York-based artist and the creator of Light-Reel. His work uses original 35mm film from an archive of more than 3,000 reels saved from his grandparents’ landmarked movie theater in Oneonta, New York. After storing the collection for more than 20 years, Strack began turning the film into illuminated artworks. Each Light-Reel piece is made from strips of original film, arranged and backlit to create a new way to experience movies and the physical material of film. Light-Reel has been featured in Architectural Digest, New York Magazine, Galerie Magazine, and other publications
