Bill Ayrey - ILC Dover Employee & Author
Employed for 45 years at ILC Dover, Bill Ayrey was responsible for testing the space suits designed & fabricated for Space Shuttle & the International Space Station. Starting at ILC in 1977, Bill worked beside the same engineers & seamstresses responsible for the success of the suits worn throughout the Apollo program. Bill tells their story in his book, Lunar Outfitters: Making the Apollo Space Suit, which he will be signing at MISSION:60s, after his talk on the challenges of an underdog company competing for the most important space suit contract in history!
