More than three decades ago, Frank White coined the term “Overview Effect”® to describe the cognitive shift that results when viewing the Earth from space and in space, on a suborbital hop, from orbit, or on a lunar mission. He found that this experience profoundly affects space travelers’ worldview. White considers himself to be a "space philosopher," and has long advocated developing a new philosophy of space exploration. In his book, he shares the idea of "the Human Space Program" as a "central project" that will engage all of us in the process of becoming "Citizens of the Universe." We are excited to have him at MISSION:60s.
