This cap is an exact replica of the crew hats that were purchased by sailors serving aboard the U.S.S. IWO JIMA during the recovery of Apollo 13, April 17, 1970.
Based on the original "Harvard" brand hats used by the US Navy for crew baseball caps, we have recreated these hats exactly like the originals including:
- Navy blue wool shell material
- Green underbrim
- White leather with red trim sweatband
- Sewn vent holes
- Machine Embroidered "U.S.S. IWO JIMA APOLLO 13" wool patch, rough cut and sewn to the crown, exactly like originals
