TOUR GUIDES: Mitch Silverstein and Stephanie Bohn

Mitch and Stephanie are members of the New York State Pavilion Paint Project, a volunteer group formed to advocate for the preservation of this iconic 1964/65 NY World’s Fair structure. Mitch co-founded the group in 2009 with Stephanie joining in 2010. In addition to caring for and painting the building, they held multiple events starting in 2014 opening the gates to allow the public to visit inside, learn its history, and envision its reuse. Mitch has fond memories of going to the fair as a child. Witnessing the technology and visions of the future inspired his interest in science. The premiere of Star Trek in 1966 solidified his career path! Stephanie’s long-time passion for history fully informs her choices when volunteering and traveling. Saving the pavilion was a perfect fit.
